Tasting notes

The Nose

The fragrance is an immediate journey through a high-altitude meadow. It opens with a sophisticated, tea-like floral sweetness, reminiscent of sun-warmed petals and wild honey. Beneath the initial bloom lies a deeper, more rugged character: the scent of dewy moorland and a subtle, dark-fruit tartness that provides a grounding, earthy counterpoint to the ethereal top notes.

The Heart

The mid-palate is where the "florist’s hand" is most evident. It is velvety and cream-forward, offering a lush, pollen-rich sweetness that feels natural rather than sugary.

The Body

A sophisticated, dry complexity emerges; a subtle, tannic grip that mimics the snap of a fresh stem. It carries the weight of dark, wild-harvested berries, providing a succulent acidity that balances the delicate floral heights.

The Finish

The finish is long, elegant, and decidedly clean. It leaves a lingering trail of wildflower musk and a cool, airy dryness that mirrors the expansive views from a Derbyshire limestone edge.

Try

To naturally savour the flavours of The Florist gin, serve over plenty of ice with a premium light tonic. Garnish with a single, edible petal and a thin slice of red apple. The Florist can also be the foundation for more adventurous signature mixes and cocktails.

The Orchard Cooler

Mix with equal parts cloudy apple juice and ginger ale over plenty of ice. The crispness of the apple plays beautifully against the rosemary’s woodiness, while the gentle heat of the ginger bridges the gap between the earthy heather and the tart blackberry.  For a robust twist, add a spring of rosemary, singe the leaves until smoking and drop into the glass.

The Golden Hour Tea

For a sophisticated, tannin-forward serve, stir the gin into a glass of chilled, lightly sweetened Earl Grey tea topped with a splash of sparkling water. The bergamot in the tea acts as a bridge between the floral heather and the rosemary, resulting in a complex, aromatic drink that feels like an elevated iced tea.

Summer spritz

For a light, bubbly option, pair the gin with a splash of elderflower liqueur and top with chilled Prosecco and a dash of soda water. The elderflower pulls the chamomile and heather to the forefront, while the bubbles lift the darker blackberry notes for a very elegant, floral aperitif.
